QUALIFYING
FOR THE CAROLINA INVITATIONAL
At
each qualifying tournament, the two highest placers who have not
yet
qualified for the Carolina Open will receive an automatic
birth. It will be up to the tournament director to determine who the
highest two
placers are in each weigh class by using a master list
of qualifiers
provided and updated each week by Tommy Bell. And as
always, there are a few special exceptions:
1. Wrestler qualifies
at two weight classes. He can only wrestle in one
at the Carolina
Open. His coach will be contacted by Tommy Bell and
after
determining which weight class he will wrestle at the Carolina
Open,
the next highest placer at the tournament he qualified at will
be
notified that he is now a qualifier.
2. Wrestler qualifies,
but cannot compete in Carolina Open due to
quitting or Injury.
Again, the next highest placer at that tournament
will be selected
to attend.
We hope that by offering this format we are now
able to offer
consolation rounds at the Carolina Open and make it
an even better event to participate in. The tournament is set for
January 26th at Lexington High School.
